West Liberty, Iowa high schools cancelled for Monday allegedly due to staff reactions to COVID vaccine

A district official told KCRG that the lack of staffing was due to many faculty and staff members experiencing side effects from their second dose of the coronavirus vaccine which they received on Saturday.

Classes at schools in West Liberty, Iowa have been canceled for Monday due to a lack of staff. According to the announcement, this included all virtual learning as well.

The announcement was made Sunday on the West Liberty Community School District website and Facebook page.

A district official told KCRG that the lack of staffing was due to many faculty and staff members experiencing side effects from their second dose of the coronavirus vaccine, which they received on Saturday.

Though classes are cancelled, activities and practices are scheduled to continue as planned, including a band and choir concert.
