ICE arrests 121 illegal aliens in Texas community SURGE—including two Tren de Aragua members

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested 121 illegal immigrants in the community of Lake Lewisville, Texas, over the summer in an operation surge that targeted foreign nationals here illegally who have committed crimes.  

The summer-long initiative lasted from June 27 and ended over Labor Day weekend, when ICE Dallas led the operation focused on "identifying unlawfully present foreign nationals, assisting in lake-related investigations, and allowing local law enforcement to spend more time on the water enforcing boating and safety laws and protecting the public," an ICE press release stated.  

“This operation highlights the success we can achieve when federal, state and local law enforcement partners work together toward a common public safety mission,” said ICE Dallas Field Office Director Miguel Vergara. “ICE is committed to upholding the law, enforcing our nation’s immigration laws, and removing individuals who pose a threat to our communities. These arrests reflect our continued focus on public safety and the rule of law.” 

Many who were busted in the operation had lengthy rap sheets, including for crimes related to assault, domestic violence, theft, sexual assault of children, indecency with a child, DUIs, and other crimes. Two members of the terrorist organization, Tren de Aragua, were also detained among those arrested by ICE: Venezuelan Willian Josue Ordonez Vasquez, 24, as well as Edwin Josue Cabrera-Zelaya, 22, of Honduras.

Both of them were under investigation by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for allegedly having an illegal livery operation on Lake Lewisville. Among others that were arrested was Jose Almendares Suazo, 30, an illegal immigrant from Honduras who has a conviction for assault and prior arrests involving domestic violence. 

Also arrested was Diego Gomez Hernandez, 22, a Mexican criminal illegal immigrant who was arrested with a 13-year-old girl in his car at the time. Illegal immigrant Axon Solomon Mejia Ortega, 35, of Mexico, has a prior arrest for felony indecency with a child by sexual contact.
