The Grand Rapids, Michigan-based grocery store Meijer announced in a Monday press release that, as a way to say thank you to its customers, it is offering savings on items ranging from food to household supplies.

The summer sale will not require customers to clip coupons, activate digital offers, or sign up for special promotions to receive the discounts. Some of the featured deals include Fresh from Meijer Whole Pork Shoulder Butt Roast for $1.79 per pound, down from $2.99; Fresh from Meijer Family Pack Chicken Drumsticks for 99 cents per pound, down from $1.39; 16-ounce strawberries for $2.50, down from $2.99; whole seedless watermelon for $4.99, down from $8.99; Meijer Soft Strong 18 Mega Roll Toilet Paper for $10.49, down from $13.99; Kellogg's Frosted Flakes (12-ounce) for $2.99, down from $4.29; and Clasic 24-ounce pickles for $2.50, down from $3.49.

The discounts are part of a broader six-week promotion featuring more than 1,000 grocery and household items across hundreds of categories, with savings available through September 8. Meijer said the reduced prices will automatically appear in stores, on Meijer.com and in the Meijer app, meaning customers will automatically receive the lower prices without having to clip coupons, activate digital offers or sign up for special promotions.

"Midwesterners work hard for their money, and we believe they shouldn't have to work equally as hard to save money on their groceries," Don Sanderson, Meijer's chief merchandising and marketing officer, said in a statement. "We're proud of the value we offer customers 365 days a year, and this is our way of saying thank you as families make the most of the last few weeks of summer."

In a post on X, the White House celebrated the move.

"One of the biggest grocery stores in America is SLASHING prices, cutting costs on everyday essentials for several weeks," the White House posted. "[Meijer] joins other grocery giants like Walmart and Sam's Club in lowering prices, part of a growing trend under President Trump."
