"You're there trying to get our support, and her declaration on the way out was 'I'm going to win with you or without you.'"
O'Brien spoke to Carlson about the union's decision not to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for president, which came as a shock to many on the Democrat left. Internal Teamsters polling showed that members preferred Trump. O'Brien said he met with Harris and that she arrogantly told him she would win the presidency "with you or without" a Teamsters endorsement.
Trump has increased support for both himself and the Republican Party during his campaign where he was able to portray Democrats as out-of-touch elites who cared more about pronouns and illegal immigrants than the American people. O'Brian spoke at the Republican National Convention in July.
O'Brien was said Harris met with some of the members of Teamsters and her team limited how many questions they could ask of the Vice President. "There's 16 questions here. So, she answers three of them. And on the fourth question, one of her operatives or one of her staff slips a note in front of me, 'This will be the last question.' And it was 20 minutes earlier than the time that it was going to end."
"You're there trying to get our support," O'Brien said, "and her declaration on the way out was 'I'm going to win with you or without you.'"
This was "crazy behavior" coming from Harris, Carlson said.
O'Brian agreed and added, "It was insane behavior, which at that point in time I knew she was going to lose." He added, "Someone this arrogant—forget anything else—but you put your finger in someone's face at an Emily's List event once you find out that we're the Teamsters, and you say, 'You better get on board or else.' That's a problem."
He also recalled telling Marty Walsh about Harris, “Let me ask you a question, Marty. Excuse my French. Who does this f*ing lady think she is?” O'Brian later added that the Democratic Party as a whole has "lost sight" of who they represent and said that it is "disgraceful" what has happened.
