Wisconsin state Senator Andre Jacque's attempt to remove GOP and Trump-endorsed candidate Tony Wied from the state's ballot failed on Monday. The failed complaint was levied against Wied last week.

“Today’s unanimous ruling confirmed what we knew all along: career politicians will do whatever they can to try and hold power," a press release from Wied read.

"The WEC’s dismissal of the complaint proves this was nothing more than a desperate attempt by my opponents to keep the Trump-Endorsed Conservative off the ballot. We look forward to earning the support of Wisconsin-8 voters and winning this primary on August 13th.”

Last week, a person close to Trump said that Jacque's attempt to remove Wied from the ballot was similar to the "Biden lawfare playbook" being used against Trump in various legal battles.

“It is ridiculous that Andre Jacque is following the Biden lawfare playbook Democrats used against Donald Trump on one of his endorsed candidates, Tony Wied,” a close ally to Trump told a reporter at the Washington Examiner. “I don’t think MAGA supporters in WI-08 will be thrilled by this.”

A complaint had been filed against Wied, accusing him of misleading voters to get a spot on the ballot. Wied is running to replace former Rep. Mike Gallagher in Wisconsin. The complaint accused Wied of collecting signatures with tactics such as getting people to sign the papers to help the homeless. There were only two signature gatherers in question and the number that they gathered, if removed, would not have dropped Wied below the threshold for qualification as a candidate, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal.

At the time of the complaint, Wied campaign said in response, “Career politicians will do anything to stay in power."

“Just like the Democrats are trying to do to President Trump, Andre Jacque and his allies are trying to remove the Trump-endorsed conservative from the ballot. This is nothing more than dirty political games, and Wisconsin voters will see right through it," the campaign added.
