Diane Blain, the woman who went viral earlier this year when she questioned Justin Trudeau's lack of a clear plan when it came to handling the costs of border crossers, has claimed that the Prime Minister defamed her publically. In an email obtained by The Post Millennial that was sent to the Prime Minister’s Office on November 6th, Christian Lajoie of Lajoie & Pearson Avocats informed Justin Trudeau that Diane Blain was humiliated and, for the events that occurred at Sainte-Anne-de-Sabrevois, and their client, by their estimation, is due $30,000 in damages.

Blain’s legal team claim that Trudeau violated articles 3 and 35 of Quebec's Civil Code, and article 4 of the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, which states “Every person has a right to the safeguard of his dignity, honour and reputation.” The Prime Minister’s office was given 10 days to reply after receipt of the document. Catherine McKenzie of imk Avocats responded in another email on December 3rd, informing Blain’s legal team in French “If you have the intention of furthering these procedures, you are informed that you will be vigorously contested”.

The GoFundMe page alleges Ms. Blain has been humiliated and insulted for asking basic questions regarding the funding for border crossers, much of which The Trudeau government still has not cleared up It should be noted that The Post Millennial has not received any court filings that would lead us to believe that a motion has been filed in court to pursue this litigation. We have found a GoFundMe page which is currently fundraising in order to mount the case in court. It has also raised roughly $2,131 from 80 donations. This fundraiser will likely continue to go viral as both right-wing and left-wing individuals react to its controversial nature, this is extremely likely given Diane's documented connection to the Storm Alliance, a self-described "ultranationalist" group, alongside the massive virality of the previous video around her case. For example, the video in which she was allegedly manhandled has already surpassed 430,000 views, a monumental amount of engagement for Canadian news standards.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated. *With files from Cosmin Dzsurdzsa. What do you think about this? Was she manhandled and insulted? Should the Prime Minister pay damages? Join the conversation by commenting below!
