Worker dead after stray bullet tears through wall at Nashville Sam's Club

A worker at a Nashville Sam's Club was killed when a stray bullet that was fired by someone in a nearby lounge came tearing through the walls of the building, striking the employee in the head while he counted products in the chip aisle. 

55-year-old Paris Carlock of Murfreesboro was conducting an inventory check around 4 am in the middle of the store when the bullet struck him in the head. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. Authorities believe that gunfire connected to the killing came from a conflict taking place down the street inside the Lavo Lounge on Antioch Pike. Security had removed the people involved in the dispute, but it continued outside. 

Gunshots rang out as vehicles near the lounge left the area. One of those bullets just happened to strike Carlock, who the police described as an "innocent" victim of the violence. Police have not made any arrests thus far in the case. 

"We are deeply saddened by the passing of one of our colleagues," a PepsiCo spokesperson told Fox News. Carlock worked for Frito-Lay, a subsidiary of PepsiCo. "Our sincere condolences are with their family members and loved ones. We have been working closely with law enforcement and local officials regarding the matter."
