A GoFundMe for Adamson BBQ owner Adam Skelly has raised over $100,000 in under 24 hours. The campaign was started by Barry McNamar in support of the defiant small business owner, who was arrested on Thursday.

Skelly made headlines this past week for defying lockdown orders and opening his BBQ restaurant. This led to large fines and an actual arrest on Thursday. The current situation spells a negative future for Skelly's business as it now remains unknown whether the Adamson BBQ doors will ever open again. Many businesses are saying they will not survive this current lockdown in Toronto and Peel region.

"I don’t know him but I do know that guys like Adam are in short supply during this overblown COVID nonsense. And he deserves our support," said McNamar in the GoFundMe description.

He continues, "Don’t put this aside for later. Every fine, every police visit, every daily scolding by some fat cat politician is chipping away at Adam’s courage. Show him that he’s not alone. Donate now."

This plea from a stranger was enough to garner serious support as the GoFundMe campaign has reached $127,376 in donations at the time of this publication.
