This comes as the Trump administration increases US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in the sanctuary city amid ongoing attacks at the ICE facility in Southwest Portland.
US Border Patrol Chief Michael Banks announced the arrests in an X post on Friday, writing, "It has been one month since our law enforcement teams began operating in Portland, Oregon. In October alone, over 560 criminal illegal aliens living in our neighborhoods were targeted and apprehended."
"Our team is cracking down hard, to restore order and protect our communities," said Chief Banks.
The apprehended individuals were from a variety of countries, including Venezuela, Mexico, Honduras, Uzbekistan, Fiji, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, and others, according to Border Patrol. The federal agency released some of their criminal convictions, which included murder, domestic violence, kidnapping, robbery, sexual abuse, and drug trafficking.
An Oregon man praised the arrests Friday evening while standing outside the ICE facility on Macadam Avenue, which has been the site of ongoing 24-hour protests since June 7.
"The more the merrier. Get them out!" he told The Post Millennial, as he handed out buttons that stated "I love ICE." The man ripped into anti-ICE protesters, many of whom are involved with Antifa networks, saying, "They're doing this for nothing. Trump is going to continue to do what he is doing, and he is especially going to double down in sanctuary cities and sanctuary states."
"We're going to see more and more arrests and more and more deportations. And that's going to help our education system, help our housing system, help our country," he continued. "I can't support Donald Trump enough, and I love ICE!"
Border Patrol Chief Banks said that ICE operations would continue in Portland, saying, "We're not done yet!"

Over 70% of those detained by ICE have no criminal record so clearly the facts are being distorted here to support Trump's claims. Most that protest are not Antifa but citizens concerned about the violation of basic civil rights by masked federal thugs. This move only terrorizes Latinos that voted for Trump & will assure R's lose that voting block. Those that support violent arrests by masked federal agents are not remotely the majority of the population. You can always find one individual who supports your message. That's meaningless. That's not journalism, it's PR spin. You may love arrests by masked federal agents under Trump but just wait until a Dem takes office & see how excited you are when precedent has now been established for feds to hide their identities while arresting people then putting them into mass detention centers without legal representation. Be careful what you cheer for. Next time it could well be mass arrests for those refusing the next vax while Dems celebrate the trampling of your rights. Trump setting precedent has made that easier & more likely under the Dems.
