Among those in New York City who were born in America, 40 percent said they support Cuomo.
A new poll has found that nearly two-thirds of foreign-born New Yorkers support socialist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani in the upcoming election, while the plurality of American-born New Yorkers said they would vote for former Governor Andrew Cuomo.
A Patriot Polling poll found that overall, 43 percent of New Yorkers across New York City support Mamdani, while 32 percent support Cuomo and 19 percent support Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa, the founder of the Guardian Angels.
Among those in New York City who were born in America, 40 percent said they support Cuomo, 31 percent said they would vote for Mamdani, and 25 percent said they’d cast their ballot for Sliwa.
Among foreign-born New Yorkers, however, Mamdani received far more support, with 62 percent saying they’d vote for him in the mayoral election. Cuomo came in second with 24 percent saying they’d vote for him, and Sliwa received 12 percent support.
The poll also found that Mamdani received just shy of 50 percent of female New Yorkers’ support, compared to 36 percent of men. By borough, Mamdani received the most support in Brooklyn and Manhattan, at 55 percent of 47 percent, respectively, and also received 39 percent support in Queens. Cuomo beat out Mamdani in the Bronx (39 to 38 percent) and Staten Island (42 to 18 percent). Sliwa remained in third place in four of five boroughs, beating out Mamdani on Staten Island with 37 percent.
Mamdani received the most support among Protestants, at 48 percent, and those classified as other 65 percent, which includes Muslims, Hindus, and Atheists. Cuomo received the most support among Catholics, 41 percent, and Jewish, 63 percent, New Yorkers.
The poll was conducted between October 18 and 19 of 715 New York City residents and has a margin of error of 3 percent.Powered by The Post Millennial CMS™ Comments
