A new poll released amid tensions over the Epstein files has revealed that the majority of Americans disapprove of Trump’s handling of the case and believe that the federal government is hiding details about Epstein’s death and clients.

The poll from Reuters and Ipsos found that the majority of Americans believe that the federal government is "hiding Epstein’s alleged client list," with 69 percent responding as such. The DOJ and FBI concluded that there was "no incriminating 'client list.'"

Additionally, 17 percent of Americans approve of Trump’s handling of the issue, while 54 percent did not, and an additional 29 percent were unsure. Democrats were more likely to say they disapproved of Trump's handling than Republicans, with 82 percent of Democrats and 30 percent of Republicans responding as such.

The majority of Americans believe that the federal government is hiding information about Epstein’s death, with 60 percent responding as such. Epstein died in 2019 in his New York City jail cell. The Department of Justice and FBI concluded earlier in July that Epstein did kill himself.

The poll was conducted between July 15 and 16 of 1,027 US adults and has a margin of error of 3 percent.

On Wednesday, Trump criticized his "past supporters" for having "bought into this 'bullshit,' hook, line, and sinker." He said that the Democrats' "new SCAM is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax." Trump has said he supports Attorney General Pam Bondi amid criticisms against her, and has called for her to release "credible" Epstein information.

A separate poll has found that just 21 percent believe that the DOJ and FBI are telling the truth when it comes to the Epstein situation. The majority of likely voters, 56 percent, said they do not believe they are telling the truth, while an additional 23 percent were unsure.
