He immediately got roasted.
Alex Soros, the son of billionaire Democratic donor George Soros, deleted and reposted an Independence Day message on X after a typo made it appear he said he would “never” love America.
In a post commemorating the nation’s 250th Independence Day, Soros shared photos of himself and his wife, Huma Abedin, alongside the caption: “Happy 250th Birthday America! I’ll never loving it.”
The apparent typo omitted the word “stop,” prompting critics on social media to accuse the error of being a Freudian slip and to reveal Soros’ actual beliefs on the country. Soros soon deleted the post and reuploaded it with the same photos and corrected caption that read: “Happy 250th Birthday America! I’ll never stop loving it.”
Alex Soros has increasingly taken on a larger role within the Soros family’s political network and is the heir to his father’s philanthropic and political organizations. Since assuming leadership of the Open Society Foundations, he has become a prominent Democratic fundraiser and donor.
The father-son duo has reportedly spent more than $100 million in the midterm elections in an effort to hinder the Trump administration and the Republican Party.
Recently, Soros and his family have drawn attention for buying multiple home properties in the Hamptons, which has angered local residents. The family currently owns 120 acres of property on Shelter Island, making them th largest landowners in the community, according to the New York Post. 18 properties have been purchased through shell companies.
