"Groups supportive of Iran may target other U.S. interests overseas or locations associated with the United States and/or Americans throughout the world."
“The Department of State advises Americans worldwide, and especially in the Middle East, to exercise increased caution. Americans abroad should follow the guidance in security alerts issued by the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate,” the State Department said in a statement.
"Periodic airspace closures may cause travel disruptions. U.S. diplomatic facilities, including outside the Middle East, have been targeted. Groups supportive of Iran may target other U.S. interests overseas or locations associated with the United States and/or Americans throughout the world," the agency added.
The alert from the State Department comes after Gen. Abolfazl Shekarch made a threat on Friday, claiming that terrorists aligned with the Iranian regime would be targeting tourism locations as the US and Israel have continued to bombard Tehran. The US has killed off much of the Iran regimes top leadership, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
The US has been overpowering the Iranian regime in the region, and the terror-aligned state has been desperately trying to hold onto power. President Donald Trump over the weekend threatened to "obliterate their various power plants" in the region if Iran did not open up the strait of Hormuz. After making the threat, Trump said in a post to Truth Social that Iran is starting to have "productive conversations" with the US.
"I am pleased to report that the United States of America, and the country of Iran, have had, over the last two days, very good and productive conversations regarding a complete and total resolution of our hostilities in the Middle East. Based on the tenor and tone of these in depth, detailed, and constructive conversations, which will continue throughout the week, I have instructed the Department of War to postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five day period, subject to the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
