It was Monday morning on MSNBC’s The Mehdi Hasan Show that Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) campaigned for a key piece of the current far-left agenda.

"There are basic goods that people can't afford to live on on seven dollars and 25 cents. It is deeply, deeply shameful that we are even having this conversation because when you take the minimum wage from several decades ago and you actually account for inflation and productivity gains to today, it should be $24 an hour."

On Tuesday, Ocasio-Cortez tweeted further on the issue. "Override the parliamentarian and raise the wage. McD’s workers in Denmark are paid $22/hr + 6 wks paid vacation. $15/hr is a deep compromise - a big one, considering the phase in."

Within the last week Bernie Sanders publicly claimed that Republicans would never get behind voting in favor for a $15 minimum wage. Soon after, his workaround scheme approach of stuffing it into the COVID relief bill was blocked by the Senate parliamentarian as "not compliant with budget reconciliation rules."

Fast forward to Tuesday evening, and Sen. Sanders blasted the Senate parliamentarian’s decision and asserted nobody elected her. As of now the Senate Democrats are slated to ignore the Senate parliamentarian’s ruling and push for the $15 minimum wage inclusion in the COVID relief bill, regardless.
