AOC celebrates loss of American jobs as oil prices plummet

AOC took to Twitter to celebrate the fact that oil has tanked, taking jobs and economies with it, because it serves her pet project of a “green new deal.”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY-14) took to Twitter today to celebrate the fact that oil has tanked, taking jobs and economies with it, because it serves her pet project of a “green new deal.” After she wrote it out, she must have realized how incredibly tone-deaf this was, because she deleted it.

“You absolutely love to see it,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted as oil prices dropped below zero. “This along with record low interest rates means it’s the right time for a worker-led, mass investment in green infrastructure to save our planet. *cough*”

Many observers were curious as to why Ocasio-Cortez would delete her tweet.

AOC can’t delete her intentions though. In her mind, it’s more important that the energy economy benefit the sectors she deems important and not those that are responsible for employing vast numbers of people worldwide and lifting countless others out of poverty. *cough*

Radical environmentalists like Ocasio-Cortez have been saying for years that human progress needs to stop in the name of the environment. And while the coronavirus pandemic was not the voluntary cause the climate change activists were looking for, it has certainly yielded the same result.

Destruction is not going to save the planet. The decimation of the energy sector is not going to yield grand new results for green infrastructure, instead it will manifest in the loss of human life. Is there an environmental benefit that is worth the cost of life, livelihoods, and entire sectors of a global economy that has increased the quality and longevity of life for millions of people in both the developed and developing nations?

Human progress is stopped, stifled, falling backwards, and instead of lamenting that, AOC thinks this is a boon for her own ideology. People are out of work due to the economic shut down, and the entire oil industry is on the brink of collapse. For some reason, the freshman congresswoman from New York felt it was a good time to reveal her complete scorn for the many American and global workers who will suffer greatly as a result of this recent devastating news.
