The US DOJ has announced on Friday in a court filing that they plan to charge at least 100 more people in connection with incidents that occurred at the US Capitol on Jan. 6.

The filing also asked for a 60 day extension of a case filed against nine agitators present who are charged with conspiracy, presumably to collect more evidence.

According to The Hill, the court filing reads, in part:

"The investigation and prosecution of the Capitol Attack will likely be one of the largest in American history, both in terms of the number of defendants prosecuted and the nature and volume of the evidence."

"Over 300 individuals have been charged in connection with the Capitol Attack. The investigation continues and the government expects that at least one hundred additional individuals will be charged."

Experts are saying that this investigation is the most complex thing the DOJ has ever been asked to do, as it requires coordination between no less than 14 different law enforcement bodies.

The amount of evidence alone is mind-boggling, with there being  15,000 hours of camera footage from 1600 different devices, including stationary cameras, mobile devices and body-cam footage.

On top of this, there 210,000 other discoverable items under review, mostly in the form of social media posts.
