Ben and Jerry's supplied food to rioters during the violent CHAZ occupation in Seattle.
"Power to the people! On January 18, we're joining the People's March in Washington, DC (and beyond!) to send an urgent message to the incoming administration: You work for the people, and we're here to hold you accountable," Ben and Jerry's wrote. "Together, we will fight for our rights and our future, and defend our freedoms against fascism. It is our right to protest and safely dissent policies and practices that do not represent our beliefs - regardless of who is in power. We are more united than we are divided. Let's make sure they know it!"

Ben and Jerry's has a history of supporting leftist progressive causes, such as the infamous 2020 "defund the police" movement, in which the company supplied food to rioters during the violent CHAZ occupation in Seattle. The company has a subsection on its website dedicated to progressive activism. According to social media posts, Ben and Jerry's also paid for billboards in several states that advocated support for so-called transgender youth.
Ben and Jerry's states on its website, "We have a progressive, nonpartisan social mission that seeks to meet human needs and eliminate injustices in our local, national, and international communities by integrating these concerns in our day-to-day business activities." A list of its "progressive values" shows the company is anti-capitalist, anti-police, and anti-fossil fuels. Additionally, Ben and Jerry's has listed social causes it supports, such as racial justice, rights for illegal immigrants, sex changes for minors, and climate justice.
President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration will take place at the nation's capitol on January 20. He will be holding a "victory" rally the day prior.
