Harris has frequently used Beyonce’s song "Freedom" as her walk-on music at rallies.
Pop star Beyonce is expected to appear with Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris at her Houston rally Friday night. A source who spoke with NBC News said that Beyonce, who is from Houston, is also expected to perform at the event. Donald Trump will also be in Texas to appear on Joe Rogan's podcast.
People familiar with the planning told the Washington Post that Beyonce will appear along with her mother, Tina Knowles, and country music icon Willie Nelson. Harris has frequently used Beyonce’s song "Freedom" as her walk-on music at rallies. At the Democratic National Convention, rumors spread that Beyonce would appear and perform, though that never came to fruition and an appearance was never planned.
Beyonce put out a country music album earlier in 2024, with former First Lady Michelle Obama calling "Cowboy Carter" a call to vote.
"Cowboy Carter is a reminder that despite everything we’ve been through to be heard, seen, and recognized, we can still dance, sing, and be who we are unapologetically. This album reminds us that we ALL have power. There’s power in our history, in our joy, and in our votes—and we can each use our own gifts and talents to make our voices heard on the issues that matter most to us," she wrote.
"Together, we can stand up for what we believe in, and we must do that at the ballot box this year. The issues that impact us most are on the ballot across the country — from equal pay and racial justice to reproductive healthcare and climate change. And as Queen Bey says at the end of Ya Ya, we need to ‘keep the faith’ and ‘VOTE!’"
Beyonce performed the national anthem at Barack Obama's inauguration, and also performed at a rally in Ohio in the final days of Hillary Clinton's 2016 failed presidential campaign.Powered by The Post Millennial CMS™ Comments
