Members of the Biden administration have had nothing but negative things to say about the way the Trump administration handled vaccine distribution, but haven't done anything different to date.

Biden's team has ramped up the rhetoric and instituted a mask mandate on federal property, as well as one for travel. But in terms of the actual distribution of the vaccine, the Trump administration's program has been left in place is on schedule as planned.

According to Bloomberg, new doses are planned to be ordered by exercising options in existing contracts. They also plan to use the Defense Production Act, which was repeatedly invoked by the Trump administration as well.

Moncef Slaoui, the chief scientific adviser to the Operation Warp Speed Program, which managed to bring the first viable vaccine to market, had the following to say:

"The team doesn’t understand why the operation is being criticized as it is. It is so unfair and unjustified. If it wasn’t for this operation, we may not have as many vaccines as we will now."

Right now, most experts agree that the number one factor limiting people from receiving the vaccine is that production can't keep up with demand, and every nation on Earth is struggling with vaccine delays at this moment in time. However, there are times when incompetence at the regional and local levels do further slow the vaccine's roll-out, and these will have to be addressed by the Biden administration.
