Biden snapped at Doocy, calling his question "lousy" and stating yet again that he had "never" discussed business deals with Hunter.
"There’s this testimony now where one of your son's former business associates is claiming that you were on speakerphone a lot with them talking business," Doocy began, being cut off by Biden before he could ask anything.
"I never talked business with anybody," the president replied, "and I knew you’d have a lousy question."
When Doocy pressed Biden on why he felt it was a bad thing to ask, he simply said "because it's not true," and walked away.
The business associate Doocy referred to was Devon Archer, who testified before the House Oversight Committee in July that Biden had been on speakerphone with his son during business meetings at least 20 times.
His statements led Rep. James Comer to claim that "Joe Biden lied to the American people when he said he had no knowledge about his son’s business dealings and was not involved."
"Joe Biden was 'the brand' that his son sold around the world to enrich the Biden family," he added.
Archer elaborated on his knowledge of the situation in a widely shared interview with Tucker Carlson, in which he referred to Biden's actions as an "abuse of soft power."
Biden has long maintained that he never had anything to do with Hunter's business dealings, however as new information has come to light via sworn testimonies and data from Hunter Biden's infamous laptop, the White House has quietly changed its official response to the allegations.
His spokespeople have long stated that he never spoke with Hunter about the subject. In recent weeks they have shifted, now suggesting only that he never directly took part in the deals that were made.
