President Joe Biden and his top aides have fallen silent amid the federal indictment of former President and leading opposition candidate, Donald Trump. The president has apparently ordered the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and re-election campaign to also remain silent amid the charges, per Politico.

The directive was reportedly given in recent days, not long after Trump flew down to Miami to appear in a federal court. However, there are some Democrats who are insistent that if Biden does not address Trump’s charges, it could potentially hurt his chances of re-election. Trump pleaded not guilty to all 37 charges brought against him on Tuesday, which center around the mishandling of classified government documents.

The report noted that Biden would not discuss anything that the Department of Justice (DOJ) was investigating, including Trump. The president said: “I have never once – not one single time – suggested to the Justice Department what they should do or not do, relative to bringing a charge or not bringing a charge [against Trump.]”

He added: “I’m honest.”

As the presidential primaries get near, it appears that Biden could be in for another rematch against Trump. A recent report has suggested that Trump currently leads Biden nationally, with 44 percent of the country saying that they would vote for Trump over Biden. Forty-three percent said that they would vote for Biden, and 14 percent of voters were still undecided.

Biden has recently come under fire, as it appears that the Biden family allegedly accepted bribes from a Ukrainian businessman worth more than $10 million in the Burisma debacle. FBI Deputy Director Paul Abbate recently said that he did not have any knowledge of the bribe when it occurred. In early May, the FBI refused to comply with a subpoena issued by the House Oversight Committee that would require them to send over an informant file detailing an “alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions.”

Just last week, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green revealed that the FBI is in possession of two more FD-1023 forms, which relate to informants in the Burisma case. As a result, two more banks have been subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee as a result.
