Conservative influencer and former congressional intern to GOP representatives Isabella Maria Deluca has been arrested and charged in relation to the events of January 6, 2021 at the Capitol building.

DeLuca has reportedly been charged with four misdemeanor counts that have been used against more than 1,000 other defendants facing charges for the day, as well as a fifth misdemeanor count of theft of government property, according to WUSA 9.

DeLuca was taken into custody on Friday in Irvine, California, and her case has been assigned to Magistrate Judge Robin Meriweather for an initial hearing in DC.

Court documents state that the FBI received an online tip regarding DeLuca being a possible suspect "who participated in the January 6, 2021 riot at the US Capitol," with the tipster alleging that Deluca had deleted social media posts about being inside the Capitol building on January 6.

The FBI interviewed DeLuca over the phone on January 21, 2021, in which she admitted to being present at the Capitol, but said that she did not go inside the building, further explaining she had went there with some friends but got separated from them.

DeLuca’s mother was also interviewed on January 21, who said that her daughter had gone to the Capitol with some friends but did not go inside the building, adding that she had watched DeLuca’s live Instagram video and saw her daughter standing outside the building.

The FBI noted social media activity from DeLuca on the day, with one response on Twitter, now known as X, reading, "Fight back or let politicians steal and election? Fight back!" A message sent to DeLuca on Instagram read, "I’m walking to the Capitol!," to which DeLuca responded, "Okay! I’m going to head there now."

DeLuca was reportedly seen on CCTV footage and in footage taken by others on the day walking along the inauguration stage that had been erected, and approaching a window broken by others.

She allegedly entered through one of the lower windows that had been broken, and appeared roughly 90 seconds later "assist[ing] other rioters in passing a table out of one of the broken windows."

Moments later as DeLuca was using her phone to photograph or take video of the events, "rioters passed the table in the direction of the Tunnel, where it was subsequently used as a weapon against law enforcement officers."

DeLuca, according to the court documents, left the building roughly two and a half minutes after entering the building.

The court documents note that the US Senate Sergeant at Arms has estimated the cost of replacing the coffee table at around $637.96.

In a post on Instagram on January 8, 2021, DeLuca wrote, "I got maced pretty bad about three times, and on top of that it was extremely windy, so it was blowing everywhere. While I do believe some people were placed there to cause chaos I don’t believe that people were faking being maced. Even if they were not directly hit, the wind was carrying it and affecting everyone.”Several minutes later, she commented a second time saying, “I used milk to get the mace/tear gas out of my eyes. I’ve heard for some people holding onions near their eyes and nose can protect them from the tear gas. I’m not 100% sure tbh."

She issued a statement on January 14, 2021 stating in part, "I was there on Jan. 6. I have mixed feelings. People went to the Capitol building because that’s Our House and that’s where we go to take our grievances. People feel, as do I that an election was stolen from them and it was allowed."

DeLuca is a former Turning Point USA ambassador and worked as an intern for Reps. Lee Zeldin of New York and Paul Gosar of Arizona. DeLuca is facing charges of theft of government property, disorderly conduct, and entering a restricted area.
