During a press conference held on Tuesday at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, or COP26, President Biden falsely claimed that the United States has the world's fastest growing economy.

"If you take a look at what economy is growing, the United States it's growing," Biden whispered at the podium.

"It has problems, mainly because of COVID is supply chain, but is growing," Biden continued. "We've created over 6 million jobs. We're leading the world in terms of the fastest growing economy, major economies."

The US is not the fasted going economy in the world. The country is currently outpaced by India, China, France, and the United Kingdom, according to the International Monetary Fund. Projections for 2022 reveal a similar placement amongst the world's economies.

The fastest growing economy in the world is actually India, seeing 9.5 percent growth in 2021. Following close behind is China, with 8 percent growth.

Biden also claimed that American wages have gone up, outpacing inflation in the US.

Despite this claim, inflation has reportedly given the average worker a 2 percent pay cut, according to a CNBC article published in July.

This 2 percent pay cut comes despite average hourly wages growing 3.6 percent from June of 2020 to the following June.
