An investigation has revealed that Microsoft magnate Bill Gates may have stepped down from Microsoft because the board had him under investigation for fraternizing with one of his employees.
Gates has been in the public light a lot recently, also because of recent revelations that he may have been meeting frequently with Jeffery Epstein in the past. His 27-year marriage to his now estranged wife Melinda is also on the rocks; the couple mutually agreed to separate a month ago.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Microsoft board members confirmed to them that there was an ongoing investigation into Gates and his potentially inappropriate relationship at the time he resigned from the company.
"Microsoft received a concern in the latter half of 2019 that Bill Gates sought to initiate an intimate relationship with a company employee in the year 2000," commented a spokesperson.
"A committee of the Board reviewed the concern, aided by an outside law firm to conduct a thorough investigation. Throughout the investigation, Microsoft provided extensive support to the employee who raised the concern."
Gates once again denied allegations through a spokesperson, who said:
"There was an affair almost 20 years ago which ended amicably .... [Gate's] decision to transition off the board was in no way related to this matter. In fact, he had expressed an interest in spending more time on his philanthropy starting several years earlier."
