Authorities have also been contacting manufacturers and retailers in an effort to track the origin of the gloves and other items linked to the incident.
In the video, a man wearing black gloves, carrying a backpack, and armed with a gun is seen tampering with Guthrie’s front-door camera. Law enforcement sources told TMZ the items discovered are being compared to the gear seen in the footage.
On Wednesday, the FBI announced on X they were “conducting an extensive search along multiple roadways in the Catalina Foothills area related to the Nancy Guthrie investigation.” Hours later, The New York Post reported that a single black glove had been located about a mile and a half from Guthrie’s residence, near desert shrubbery.
NBC affiliate KVOA said another glove, possibly matching, was found in the vicinity, and both items have been submitted for DNA testing. The FBI cautioned that analysis is ongoing and typically takes about 24 hours.
Authorities have also been contacting manufacturers and retailers in an effort to track the origin of the gloves and other items linked to the incident.
The investigation remains active, with law enforcement working to verify whether the gloves are directly connected to Guthrie’s abduction. No suspects have been publicly identified as of now.
Officials are urging anyone with information related to the items or the case to come forward as searches continue across the Catalina Foothills area.
