The scheduled appearance of Kyle Rittenhouse at a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) chapter event at the University of Memphis has resulted in rising tension and threats of violence by protestors attempting to disrupt the event.

Black Lives Matter protestors were present on the University of Memphis's campus on Wednesday, chanting derogatory remarks about Rittenhouse, including "Kyle is a killer," according to footage posted by TPUSA Frontlines and Julio Rosas. The protestors were later seen entering the event, tapping the names of the men involved in Rittenhouse's self-defense case on the seats. School officials reportedly did nothing to stop these protestors from carrying out such actions.

The protestors also doxxed the phone number and address of the university's TPUSA chapter president on social media, according to TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk.

The TPUSA event on campus was scheduled for Wednesday and had been approved by the university since mid-February. However, days leading up the event, university officials informed the TPUSA chapter that their ticketing methods were “not fair and equitable.”

According to TPUSA, the chapter President met with school officials and agreed to post a new ticketing link for the event. But when this link went live, protestor groups were able to get a hold of it and share it with their followers.

“The University of Memphis has taken unprecedented actions to undermine our event. Seizing control of seating arrangements and the ticketing system —on the day of the event— has never happened in our many years of campus organizing. Despite being promised control over 50 seats, we’re now restricted to just a single row of 8 seats. This abrupt change will result in hundreds of disappointed students whose tickets will no longer grant them entrance into the venue.” said TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet.

“Most shockingly, we have gathered credible information that school administrators have leaked the new ticketing information to protester groups so they can reserve large numbers of newly issued tickets and sabotage the event,” Kolvet continued.
