Elon Musk is reportedly expected to attend a ceremony for the reopening of Notre Dame in Paris over the weekend.
According to the Telegraph, Musk is expected to attend the ceremony. Musk has took on an important role during the Trump campaign and is slated to also play a key role in his administration at the Department of Government Efficiency.
The ceremony is set for Dec. 7. The Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris suffered extensive damage from a fire in April 2019 and had to be repaired. Portions of the building with heavy damage included the oak roof beams as well as the supporting roof after a fire started in the attic of the building. Other guest expected to be in attendance include Prince William as well as Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.
Earlier last month, Musk celebrated the cathedral's reopening on X, posting in enthusiasm, "Notre-Dame has been restored!"
The cathedral’s choir will perform hymns, and prayer will be offered during the ceremony. Chinese piano performer Lang Lang as well as South African opera singer Pretty Yende will offer performances along with an orchestra. The ceremony will have about 1,500 guests including around 40 world leaders in attendance. Laurent Ulrich, the Catholic archbishop of Paris, will lead the service.
Trump said of the ceremony earlier this week, "It is an honor to announce that I will be traveling to Paris, France, on Saturday to attend the re-opening of the Magnificent and Historic Notre Dame Cathedral, which has been fully restored after a devastating fire five years ago.”
