The FBI has raided the Woodbridge, Virginia home of RNC and DNC pipe bomb suspect Brian Cole. The FBI took the suspect into custody on Thursday morning after a nearly 5-year investigation into who placed pipe bombs outside the headquarters in Washington, DC on the night of January 5, 2021.

Authorities were seen carrying items out of the home and searching a vehicle parked outside the home. The FBI is investigating whether he had active bombs, per a Human Events source. MSNOW reported that two people briefed on the arrest said that the suspect has been linked to statements supporting anarchist ideology.

Neighbors who spoke with the New York Post described him as a young man who kept to himself. One neighbor said, "He’s very antisocial. Very. He keeps to himself." they added, "He has a dog that he loves. He walks every day, twice a day, to 7-11 with his dog and he wears his headphones."

Another neighbor stated, "He seemed very quiet. He would never make eye contact. Almost like he just didn’t see you." The neighbor said that Cole would "wear shorts all winter long, and red Crocs." They added, "I’m pretty shocked. This is a very uncommonly friendly and neighborly place to live."

Authorities found two pipe bombs, one placed near the RNC headquarters in DC, one near the DNC headquarters, on January 6. Surveillance footage showed a person placing the pipe bombs on the evening on January 5.

The FBI had sought help from the public for years for information that could lead to the arrest of a suspect. The suspect was described as being around 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and wearing Nike Air Max Speed Turf shoes with a gold logo at the time of the incident. In 2023, the bureau raised the reward for information that led to an arrest from $100,000 to $500,000.
