Asked if Ontario would follow Quebec's more restrictive lockdown measures that will include shutting more businesses and possible 8 pm curfews, Ford said that "Everything's on the table. But let's see where the numbers go."
Ontario has watched COVID case numbers balloon recently, shattering previous records in most categories, including positivity rate, deaths per day, and new cases per day.
For the past several days, the province has seen over 3,000 new cases on a daily basis. The rolling seven-day average of new is expected to surpass 3,000 possibly in a day or two.
Quebec's measures have yet to be formally confirmed. Quebec Premier Francois Legault is expected to make a concrete announcement on Wednesday. The lockdown itself will likely come into its full effect on Saturday.
However, the lockdown, according to sources within the Quebec government, is expected to last up to a full month and will be very comprehensive and include curfews that will take effect around 8 pm or 9 pm each night.
