The results of Turning Point USA’s America Fest straw poll were released on Monday, revealing that current Vice President JD Vance is overwhelmingly favored to be the 2028 presidential nominee for Republicans. The poll found that 84.2 percent of attendees want Vance for the spot.

No other figure received double-digit support: Marco Rubio received 4.8 percent, Ron DeSantis received 2.9 percent, Donald Trump Jr received 1.8 percent, Glenn Youngkin received 0.4 percent, and Ted Cruz received 0.3 percent. An additional 2.5 percent were undecided, and 3.1 percent said someone else should be nominated.

Charlie Kirk Show producer Blake Neff noted that Vance’s performance in the 2025 straw poll was better than Trump’s performance in the 2023 version of the poll. "JD Vance won the 2028 nomination straw poll by more than Donald Trump won the 2024 one we did two years ago," he wrote.

The poll also found strong approval numbers for members of Trump’s cabinet, such as Secretary of State Rubio, with 92.9 percent saying they somewhat or strongly approve of him, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth received 94.7 percent support, and Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr received 96.8 percent support. The only person to receive disapproval in the double digits was Attorney General Pam Bondi, with 29 percent saying that they strongly or somewhat disapprove of her, while 64.8 percent said they approve.

Attendees were also asked about their views on Israel, with the majority, 53.4 percent, saying that Israel was "one ally of many," while 33.3 percent said that the country was America’s "top ally." An additional 13.3 percent said that Israel was "not an ally."

Winning the midterms was a top concern of attendees, along with voter integrity and the affordability crisis. At the bottom was ending the war in Ukraine, redistricting, and holding sanctuary cities accountable. Attendees were also asked whether they would support a moratorium on new immigration to the United States, with 89.5 percent saying that they do.

When asked what the biggest threats facing America were, radical Islam finished in the top spot. This was followed by socialism and Marxism, mass migration, and the economy and affordability. At the bottom was technology and AI, low fertility, and lack of patriotism.
