BREAKING: Jim Jordan launches investigation into Fani Willis after revelations she hired romantic partner in Trump case

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan has launched an inquiry into Nathan Wade, the prosecutor hired by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis with whom she had allegedly been in a romantic relationship with.

"The committee on the Judiciary continues to conduct oversight of politically motivated prosecutions by state and local officials. Based on recent reports, we believe that you possess documents and information about the coordination for the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office (FCDAO) with other politically motivated investigations and prosecutions and the potential misuse of federal funds," the letter began.

Jordan wrote that Willis, with Wade’s assistance, indicted Trump in August, and has been paid more than $650,000 "to serve as an 'Attorney Consultant' and later a 'Special Assistant District Attorney' in the unprecedented investigation and prosecution of the former President and other former federal officials."

Jordan noted multiple invoices Wade submitted for payment by the office, which included payment for meetings with the January 6 Select Committee and White House Counsel.

Jordan is seeking documents and communications between November 1, 2021, and the present between Wade as well as members of the DA’s office and the Executive Branch and the January 6 Select Committee, as well as notes, documents, and other materials in Wade’s possession relating to meetings he had with the DOJ, Presidential office, and the January 6 select committee.

Michael Roman, one of the 19 defendants charged in Georgia by Willis, filed a motion on Monday arguing that Willis' conduct could potentially warrant a dismissal of the charges against him and disqualification of the entire DA's office from future prosecution of the case in reports of the relationship are true.

Roman's lawyer, Ashleigh Merchant, claimed in the filing that Willis and the prosecutor in question, Nathan Wade, "have been engaged in an improper, clandestine personal relationship during the pendency of this case, which has resulted in the special prosecutor, and, in turn, the district attorney, profiting significantly from this prosecution at the expense of the taxpayers."
