Rebel News founder Ezra Levant was arrested at a pro-Hamas demonstration in one of Toronto’s most Jewish neighborhoods.
A police officer can be heard saying in the video that Levant was arrested for “breach of the peace" and inciting violence. Levant was arrested after he refused to move away from police after being warned by officers.
“While reporting on the ongoing pro-terrorist demonstrations in the predominantly Jewish neighborhood of Toronto, Ezra Levant was arrested,” Rebel News wrote on its website. “We have already been in touch with our lawyer Leora Shemesh who was on the scene before the arrest and will work to release Ezra and defend any charges made against him.”
While being escorted by police, a man over a speaker can be heard saying "Shame on you, Zionist!"
Leading up to the arrest, Levant can be seen walking with police.
“You’re a coward. You’ll do what they say, it’s the path of least resistance,” Levant said to the officer. He can also be heard telling the officer that he is violating his charter rights by not allowing him to speak freely.
“I know you want me to stand here, sir, but you are not the law,” Levant says while being moved by the officer, who responds, “I am the law.”
“You are not the law,” Levant responds. “You are a servant of the law.”
