FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that he would be staying in the Trump administration as the FBI director after reports suggested that he may resign if Deputy Director Dan Bongino also left his post.

Patel wrote on X, "The conspiracy theories just aren’t true, never have been. It’s an honor to serve the President of the United States Donald Trump — and I’ll continue to do so for as long as he calls on me."

The statement from Patel comes after it was reported on Friday that he may leave the administration if Bongino left after a clash between the deputy FBI director and Attorney General Pam Bondi over the release of the Epstein files.

Special Assistant to the President and White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Harrison Fields released a statement concerning the reports on Friday, “President Trump has assembled a highly qualified and experienced law and order team dedicated to protecting Americans, holding criminals accountable, and delivering justice to victims. This work is being carried out seamlessly and with unity.”

“Any attempt to sow division within this team is baseless and distracts from the real progress being made in restoring public safety and pursuing justice for all,” Fields added.

Reports of Bongino considering leaving his post over the Epstein files release appear to be more substantiated, as confirmed by multiple reports, and first made known by Laura Loomer.

According to Fox News, Bongino was in a meeting with White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, when he walked out of the room, exchanging heated conversation with Bondi at the time as well.

The fallout comes after a memo from the DOJ was leaked to reporters and it said that Jeffrey Epstein killed himself in his jail cell in 2019, as well as concluded that there was "no incriminating ‘client list,'" that the disgraced financier had.
