Protestors converged on Queen's Park Saturday afternoon to protest the continued measures implemented by the Ontario government. Over 500 people chanted slogans like "Open up Ontario," and "No new normal."

This is the largest gathering of its kind in Toronto since the shutdown protests began. The plan for Saturday is to march from the legislature to the hospital.

The first protest of this kind was organized and held in Queen's Park on April 25. Complaints of those in attendance were the loss of income due to excessive coronavirus lockdown measures and the fining of those who were exercising their right to free assembly.
Organizers were expressing their support for small businesses, working class and the poor, as well as students. Concerns were also raised about the mental health ramifications on those who are self-isolated, without work, and prevented from normal socializing activities.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford had previously called the protestors "a bunch of yahoos" for flouting social distancing rules and waving an upside-down Canadian flag during their demonstration.
