Angella Lynn Davis, 49, of Vernonia, is known to her Antifa comrades as "Crowtifa."
PORTLAND, Ore. — A Portland jury has acquitted a far-left radical accused of attacking conservative activist Nick Sortor.
Angella Lynn Davis (born May 1976), of Vernonia, Ore., was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and offensive physical contact stemming from an Oct. 2, 2025, confrontation in which prosecutors said she chased and helped surround Sortor while brandishing a stick.

"This verdict is basically a green light for leftists to attack conservative reporters with complete impunity in Portland," Sortor told The Post Millennial. "Truly messed up."
Video shown at trial captured a group dressed in black pursuing Sortor before he fell to the ground. Davis was identified in court as the individual wearing a black bird costume.
“Evidence is going to show you two different crimes,” Senior Deputy District Attorney Kevin Demer said in opening statements, arguing Davis “aggressively pursued” Sortor after he extinguished an American flag that had been set on fire during anti-ICE unrest.

Jurors viewed footage showing Davis moving in coordination with others while shouting, “Get the f*ck out of here,” moments before Sortor was pushed to the ground.
The incident occurred on a public sidewalk across from an Antifa-affiliated encampment adjacent to the ICE facility, which has been the site of repeated protests and arrests.

At the three-day trial, a six-person jury comprised of one man and five women heard testimony from Sortor, police officers, and a violent witness aligned with Antifa. Three Portland police officers testified about the events.
The trial was presided over by Judge Chanpone P. Sinlapasai.

Sortor told jurors he was the victim of mob violence. He said he had traveled from Washington, D.C., to document unrest tied to federal immigration enforcement policy.

When asked why he did not fight back, Sortor said he is “non-violent.”
“I don’t ever want to do that, especially when I’m way outnumbered,” he testified.
The courtroom gallery included numerous Antifa extremists who regularly attend far-left demonstrations and trials involving their comrades.
Davis’ defense attorney, Anthony Chavez, argued that Sortor was an out-of-state provocateur who came to Portland to “harass” and “doxx” protesters. He characterized demonstrators as “peaceful” and claimed Sortor escalated the situation by taking a burning American flag that "wasn’t his."

A second defense attorney, Benjamin Scissors, attacked Sortor’s credibility, describing him as an online influencer who has built a career “trying to take down the left.” He argued protesters reacted after Sortor filmed them without masks, claiming such exposure can lead to harassment and violence through being retweeted by Andy Ngo.
"He's sticks his phone one inch from people's faces," Scissors told the jury, adding that "as soon as someone touches him, he cries assault." Scissors contended that Sortor "exaggerates his role as a perceived victim." Video footage of Sortor defending himself from violent demonstrators attacking him at protests in other cities, such as New Orleans, was shared in court. Scissors used it to portray Sortor, who has no violent criminal history, as violent.

Scissors was also the attorney for violent Portland Antifa militant John Collin Hacker at his felony robbery trial, where Andy Ngo testified as a victim. Hacker attended Davis’ trial to support her.
The defense called as a witness Amanda “Andy” Siebe, a trans Antifa activist convicted in Multnomah County in December of multiple crimes related to kicking a Jewish man’s dog.
Davis, who identifies as transgender and nonbinary, works in independent film production. Her social media accounts feature frequent anti-government and pro-Gaza political content.
Another individual arrested during the incident, Son Mi Yi, was convicted in November after striking Sortor with an umbrella marked “ACAB,” an acronym for “all cops are bastards.” She accepted a plea deal requiring her to stay at least 300 feet away from the ICE facility for one year.
Sortor was also arrested that night, but prosecutors quickly dropped the case. He has since said he intends to sue the City of Portland for wrongful arrest.
Sortor, who has more than 1.5 million followers on X and appears regularly on Fox News, is known for documenting protests in cities including Portland and Minneapolis. His reporting has made him the target of violence and a robbery.
