Former UN ambassador and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley will be suspending her presidential campaign in the Republican primary.

According to reporting from NPR who spoke to sources familiar with the matter, Haley has decided to suspend the campaign after a lackluster performance on Super Tuesday.

The campaign sent an email to press inviting reporters to hear remarks from her to be made at 10 am. She will be making the remarks from Charleston in her home state of South Carolina, a state she lost to President Donald Trump in that primary.

Haley has insisted that she would stay in the race for the GOP presidential nomination, but after losing every Super Tuesday state but Vermont to Trump, she appeared to have little choice but to suspend her campaign.

"I couldn't be more worried about America," Haley said in remarks about why she had intended to stay in the race. "It seems like our country is falling apart. But here's the thing—America will come apart if we make the wrong choices."

In his Tuesday night victory speech, Trump pivoted fully to the general election and did not mention Haley. "There's never been anything so conclusive," he said. "This was an amazing, an amazing night, an amazing day. It's been an incredible period of time in our country's history."

This is a breaking story. Refresh for updates.
