A 32-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly threatening the life of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during a Cambridge, Ontario campaign.
Police initially said that the stop, which was delayed due to protests, saw no arrests. Two days later, however, it was announced that police would launch an investigation into threats allegedly made to the prime minister both in person and on social media.
According to CBC, police spokesperson Cherri Greeno said: "The alleged threats were verbal and they relate to a live video that was posted on social media that described harm and/or death toward the prime minister."
The man is facing two counts of uttering threats, and will appear in court later this month.
