Conservative leadership candidate Peter MacKay has deleted a tweet that praised the WE Charity after his wife spoke at a WE Day event.

In the tweet, Peter MacKay said "the Kielburger bros and the We Movement are a remarkable Canadian force for good."

The Ethics Commissioner is currently investigating the Trudeau government as a result of this contract. If found guilty, Trudeau will have three ethics violations.

The Conservative Party have also requested that the RCMP investigate the Liberal government over their role in handing out a $900 million contract to the WE Charity.

Speaking to The Post Millennial, MacKay's spokesperson said "no, Nazanin Afshin Jam MacKay did not receive money for any of her work with WE Canada. She should be lauded for contributing her time and knowledge to charitable efforts for free."

"He took his children to a WE Canada event in New Glasgow in 2013. He has met the Kielburgers through the work his wife has done with them."

"Nazanin Afshin Jam-MacKay has endured significant inappropriate attention from dark corners of the Web throughout this campaign. Someone on the campaign in an abundance of caution decided to delete the tweet from the Peter MacKay account. Mrs. MacKay herself has not deleted her tweet," he added.

This story was updated to include a comment from Peter MacKay's spokesperson.
