Independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr will hold an event in Phoenix, Arizona Friday afternoon to discuss "the present historical moment and his path forward." The event will take place at 2 pm Eastern and will be live-streamed on X and other social media channels.

This comes as Trump has said he would consider Kennedy for a spot in his administration if Kennedy quits his own campaign and endorses Trump. "I like him a lot. I respect him a lot. I probably would, if something like [an endorsement] would happen," Trump told CNN.

The question from CNN came after Kennedy's running mate Nicole Shanahan said quitting the race and endorsing Trump was one of the options the campaign was considering alongside staying in the race.

"There’s two options that we’re looking at, and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and [Tim] Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump," Shanahan said. Or, she continued, "We walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump … and we explain to our base why we’re making this decision." Shanahan said that the RFK Jr. campaign had been talking with the Trump campaign, and that "What we are hearing from the Trump camp is very positive."

Kennedy initially launched his campaign as a Democrat to try to take out Biden, but in October 2023 announced that he was running as an independent.

In a video posted to X on Tuesday, Kennedy said that instead of attending a meeting with community leaders, he was at the state courthouse in Pennsylvania because "the Democratic Party is suing me" to try to keep him off the ballot. He noted that he would be in New York on Wednesday for a similar reason.
