Emergency crews are on the scene at a residency in Kamloops, British Columbia after a report of a Canadian Snowbird airplane crash.

There is expected to be at least one fatality, according to BC Sky Scan.

A video posted by Twitter user Mario Kaisar shows the snowbird making a free fall before disappearing behind a wooded area. Large amounts of smoke could be seen tracing behind the plane.

WARNING: Video may be disturbing to some viewers. No graphic content is shown.

The RCAF tweeted that they were aware of the Snowbird crash, and were "determining the status of our personnel and supporting emergency personnel."

Photos by Ian Young showed the wreckage from the plane crash, showing a blazing pile of debris on the front lawn of a residency.

According to local CHNL 610AM radio's Brett Mineer, the pilot "ejected safely" from the plane before it hit the ground.

An eye witness, Annette Schonewille, told CBC that she saw the Snowbird catch fire while in flight.

"The one plane continued and the other one, there was two puffs, it looked like puffs of smoke and one ... was a ball of fire," said Schonewille.

"No noise, it was strange, and then the plane just did a cartwheel and fell right out of the sky. Just boom, straight down, and then a burst of black, black smoke."

British Columbia Health Minister Adrian Dix confirmed that paramedics were dispatched to the crash site, where one person was transported to hospital.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated.
