Trump said it was a "productive meeting," and said they agreed on "many, many points."
US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin concluded their summit in Alaska on Friday after around three hours of talks, telling reporters in a press conference after that "great progress" was made.
Trump said it was a "productive meeting," and said they agreed on "many, many points," but there were "a couple of big ones that we haven’t quite gotten there, but we’ve made some headway."
"So there’s no deal until there’s a deal," Trump said. "I will call up NATO in a little while, I will call up the various people that I think are appropriate, and, of course, call up President Zelensky and tell them about today’s meeting. It’s ultimately up to them."
Putin said that negotiations had been held "in a constructive atmosphere of mutual respect," and suggested that an agreement had been reached between the two leaders, saying, "I would like to hope that the agreement that we’ve reached together will help us bring closer [to] that goal and will pave the path towards peace in Ukraine. We expect that Kyiv and European capitals will perceive that constructively and that they won’t throw a wrench in the works."
"Today’s agreements will be the starting point, not only for the solution of the Ukrainian issue, but also will help us bring back business-like and pragmatic relations between Russia and [the] US."
Putin added, "I would like to add one more thing: I’d like to remind you that in 2022, during the last contact with the previous administration, I tried to convince my previous American colleague the situation should not be brought to the point of no return when it would come to hostilities. And I said it quite directly back then that it’s a big mistake. Today, with President Trump saying that if he was the president back then, there will be no war, and I’m quite sure that it would indeed be. So I can confirm that."

Kiev is under full control of the US. Zelensky does as he is instructed, nothing more. The EU is following the plan dictated by the US of assuming control of the NATO-Russia war, at the direction of the US, so the US can shift it's attention to war with China. Putin isn't going to stop because the US has shown repeatedly it cannot be trusted. He fully knows that this is actually a war between the US & Russia fought by Ukrainian men, who are mostly now dead.
