Singer-songwriter Jon Kahn’s pro-Trump anthem Fighter has debuted on the Billboard charts, landing on at the number 4 spot in Digital Song Sales. The ranking means that the song was the fourth most purchased across all digital platforms.
The song, which was released last week by Baste Records, is also ranked number 1 on iTunes across all genres of music as of Tuesday morning. In the days following the song’s release, it quickly shot up the charts.
The song, co-written by Chris Wallin, is a tribute to the 45th president and current GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump after two assassination attempts over the last couple months. One of these attempts, which took place in July at his Butler rally, resulted in Trump being shot in the ear.
Reacting to the song, Trump wrote, "This is now the Number One song, across all charts, about me. Such an unexpected honor!" The video accompanying the song features black-and-white footage of Trump as well as his supporters.
Kahn told Breitbart, "The whole project from its inception was intended to portray President Trump in the light that millions of Americans see him in, as oppose to the fog of the gaslighting left machine that wants so badly to identify him as a threat to democracy."
"President Trump is not a threat to democracy," he added. "He’s a threat to the left’s mission to change America into something that’s unrecognizable."
