"Male DNA was obtained from item 7-1. Item 7-1 was interpreted as originating from two individuals, one of whom is Twiggs."
During testimony on day two of Tyler Robinson’s preliminary hearing, it was revealed that DNA evidence recovered from a screwdriver and towel retrieved from Utah Valley University in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s killing belonged to Lance Twiggs, Robinson’s transgender lover.
Jennifer Faumina, a sergeant at the Utah Department of Public Safety who was working in the State Bureau of Investigation at the time of the shooting, read out portions of a DNA report.
"Male DNA was obtained from item 7-1. Item 7-1 was interpreted as originating from two individuals, one of whom is Twiggs," she read. She later said, "Male DNA was obtained from item eight sub one. Item eight sub one was interpreted as originating from two individuals, one of whom is Twiggs." Those two items were a screwdriver and a towel that had been wrapped around a rifle.
The screwdriver had been found by Officer Chris Bagley, who worked for UVU's police department at the time of the shooting, on the rooftop of the Losee Center. Bagley also found on the roof, which was covered in gravel, what he called a "sniper pad," with the imprint of a person laying in prone being seen.
