Pro-Palestinian protestors from various activist groups including the Democratic Socialists of America blocked 8 bridges across the US for the 8th night of Hannukah Thursday evening.
In Seattle, over 100 activists blocked all lanes of the University Bridge and called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

They were joined by the radical group Jewish Voices for Peace, which is shunned by mainstream Jewish groups and has ties to terrorist organizations. Activists wore shirts stating "Jews for ceasefire now" even though many of them were known activists from other protests who were not Jewish. Protesters sang, "Hannukah oh Hannukah come light the menorah, down with apartheid…"
They tied an 18-foot “ceasefire menorah” to the bridge and chanted for the genocide of Jews and Christians in Israel.
Banners specifically targeted Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), who has so far stood with Israel through the conflict. Activists could also be seen holding a banner that read “The whole world is watching.”
For 3 hours, Seattle police allowed the activists to block the bridge and made no effort to remove them. Seattle politicians such as Democratic Mayor Bruce Harrell have been strongly criticized for continuing to allow the activists to block streets and interrupt public events like the downtown Christmas Tree lighting.
At no point did the activists call for the return of the over 100 hostages that remain captives of Hamas, nor did they mourn those killed by terrorists in the Oct. 7 massacre. Pro-Hamas rallies almost always include calls for genocide, vandalism, graffiti, and anti-police rhetoric, but never calls for Hamas to surrender or for the release of the hostages held by the terrorist organization.
On the first night of Hannukah, pro-Hamas activists staged a sit-in at the office of the president of the University of Washington and were allowed to remain in the administration building for over 8 hours before they were eventually removed by police. The on-campus menorah lighting ceremony was forced to move to a different location.
Earlier this week, some of the same activists were involved in a vigil for “journalists” they claim were killed by the IDF. However, some of the placards with bios of the “journalists” described them as “Hamas affiliated.”
Last month, AP, Reuters, CNN, and the New York Times were slammed when it was revealed that “journalists” they had hired for freelance work were embedded with Hamas terrorists.
Pro-Hamas activists, using the same props, chants, and signage, were joined by other pro-Hamas organizations and targeted their local politicians on the Burnside Bridge in Portland, OR, the Washington Street Bridge in Chicago, IL, I-76 in Philadelphia, PA, the 110 in Los Angeles, CA, the Cabrillo Bridge pedestrian bridge in San Diego, CA, the Franklin Avenue Bridge in Minneapolis, MN and the Jackson Street Bridge in Atlanta, GA. Activists also targeted other locations and bridges across the US including menorah lighting ceremonies.
Days after the deadly Hamas massacre and before the IDF responded in Gaza, chapters of the Democratic Socialist of America began organizing rallies in support of Palestinians and even used graphics of Hamas terrorists parachuting into Israel to advertise the events.
The organization’s Palestinian Solidarity Working Group even released a "tool kit," with the resources to coordinate pro-Hamas rallies coast to coast.
While many progressive Democrats have renounced their membership in the radical group, it still counts among its members Reps Alexandra Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) and Cori Bush (D-MO) and regularly links to Socialist and Marxist propaganda.
The toolkit had similar themes as the one created by the violent pro-terror activist group Within Our Lifetime (WOL), which took credit for the vandalism of the New York Public Library and targeting the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.
Similar to WOL, the DSA also provides graphics and templates for actions and links to many antisemitic organizations.
