Canada's healthcare system was ranked 10th out of eleven high-income nations in a new report by the Commonwealth Fund.
Released on Wednesday, the Commonwealth Fund ranked countries based on equity, access to care, affordability, healthcare outcomes, and administration efficiency. The only other high income country ranked lower than Canada on the list was the United States.
Top performing high income countries in the report include Norway, the Netherlands, and Australia.
According to CTV, the Commonwealth Fund report ranked high income countries on their health system by an expert advisory panel that conducted surveys in each respective nation before the COVID-19 pandemic. It also used administrative data from the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development and the World Health Organization.
