Candace Owens's talk show hosted by the Daily Wire had Barstool Sports founded Dave Portnoy on for interview recently. The two of them talked about the media frenzy that has been mounted against Portnoy lately.

The whole thing started on Nov. 4 2021, when the Business Insider published a story claiming that he had sex with two women that was non-consensual. However, since then, the story has been thoroughly debunked by Portnoy and others.

The following is a condensed excerpt culling important elements from the interview, which totals 15 minutes.  On the particular subject of the Business Insider piece, Portnoy tells Owens:

"... This article that they wrote, they withheld evidence. They withheld a police report; that made no sense. I released DMs [direct messages]; they ignored them. So yes, it's scary, because it's out there."

".... And what if I didn't have the 'receipts?' ... Thankfully I had them with these people, but if I didn't, I would have had no way to prove my innocence .... they've escalated it to a point where it still is scary."

Candace, a bit later, then asked Portnoy:

"So, you're not taking this sitting down, which is unusual, because, obviously you're white and you're straight and you're a male, which means you're obviously guilty in 2021, (here the audience erupts into laughter), so, why have you decided to actually fight back here?" asks Candace, with a gleam in her eye and a smile, obviously expecting a good answer.

Portnoy replied "This is where I think they've made a mistake."

"I don't mind conflict, and I've been an open book for two decades. I have nothing to hide. Everything that's embarrassing about me is out there. Private moments that were never meant to be public are out there. So, I know they can dig, they can do whatever. There's nothing."

Portnoy further iterates that he plans to take every legal action possible to strike back at the Business Insider and potentially others:

"This drives me crazy. And, I've said to them, and I don't know that they know this: If this were a baseball game, we're in the top of the second [inning.] There's no chance I'm letting this go."

"They tried to basically discredit me with one of the most heinous crimes I can commit ... there's no chance I'm gonna just let this disappear in coming months ... I have sex tapes out there that I was the victim of. People have released [them], I didn't want them out."

... I'm gonna do whatever I can to make sure that they –  if you wanna call it revenge or whatever – that they pay as much as I have the ability to make them pay for what they did, which to me is knowingly, falsely accusing me of rape."
