Dr. Kelly Moore, the Associate Director of the Immunization Action Coalition in the US, stated that records showing that a person has been inoculated with the coronavirus vaccine will be available as cards.
"Everyone will be issued a written card that they can put in their wallet that will tell them what they had and when their next dose is due," Moore said. "Let's do the simple, easy thing first. Everyone's going to get that."
According to 6 Action News, Moore said that there will be registries at the state level which will be for use by the healthcare system.
Providers will asking people to voluntarily give their cell phone numbers, so they can be texted the date of the next dose, along with reminders.
It is unclear at this time whether the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta will be simply keeping a tally of doses administered, or whether names will be attached to those doses.
The US Department of Defense has released an image of the vaccine "kit" which will be issued by companies such as Pfizer or Moderna. In it, one can find a needle and syringe, alcohol wipes, a mask, and, of course, the registration card.
If approved by the FDA, vaccines could start being shipped as early as the Dec. 15.
