Cast members of Vanderpump Rules fired for racial insensitivity

Television network Bravo has confirmed that four of their actors from the show Vanderpump Rules will not be returning for another season, according to Page Six. Those actors are, Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Brett Caprioni and Max Boyens.

“Bravo and Evolution Media confirmed today that Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni will not be returning to 'Vanderpump Rules,'” said on the network's representatives.

The firings come after an online social media backlash against Schroeder, 31 and Doute, 37, that dates back to 2018 when the two allegedly called the police on the only black cast member the show had, Faith Stowers, 31.

“There was this article in the Daily Mail where there was an African American lady,” said Stowers in an Instagram live chat. “It was a weird photo, so she looked very light-skinned and had these different, weird tattoos. I guess this woman was robbing people. And they called the cops and said it was me. This is like, a true story. I heard this from, actually, Stassi during an interview.”

Doute apparently bragged about the incident in a tweet. During an appearance on the "Bitch Bible" podcast, Schroeder admitted to the incident, saying, “We are like, we just solved a f—king crime,” she said at the time. “We start calling the police. The police don’t give a f—k.”

Schroeder was also criticized in a separate incident for racist comments said on Straight Up With Stassi, her own podcast, saying in one episode, “Why aren’t the Asians being like, ‘We’re not represented.’ Why aren’t Native Americans and Latinos being like, ‘We’re not represented.’ And whenever they get upset, everyone has to go above and beyond to then make them happy.”

The term “them” in this case referred to black people. Those comments resulted in the actress losing sponsorships and being dropped from her PR agency.

Both Schroeder and Doute issued apologies via their social media on Sunday.

Fans began to speculate whether Caprioni, 31, and Boyens, 27, would return for Season 8 of the show following several racist tweets.

“It upsets me that the word n—a is not allowed to be said unless you are black because quite honestly it’s my favorite word” tweeted Boyens in January before later apologizing, saying “It is not a representation of who I am,” Boyens added. “I am shocked I ever tweeted that — and I am disgusted and embarrassed — I am truly sorry.”

Following the use of some racial slurs, Caprioni also apologized saying, “I am incredibly ashamed and accept full responsibility, and acknowledge that this language was as unacceptable then as it is now. Please know that I have learned and grown since then and would never use this language today.”

Their previous apologies seemed to be accepted by Lisa Vanderpump, 59, at the time they were given. Vanderpump defended her initial decision to keep them on her show, saying, “If I fired every one of you that have made mistakes, it doesn’t matter to what degree, probably none of you would have a job.”

Whether or not Vanderpump was involved in the latest string of firings remains unknown.
