"I thought it was … logical."
Fox News’ Kayleigh McEnany asked Desronvil if there was a piece of evidence that stood out as a game changer in deliberations. Desronvil replied, “How methodical I thought Lindsay was in the execution of her children. So that was really big for me. From watching the video and also listening in the courtroom the, you know, the thought process that goes behind and to fulfill the commitment of doing that. I thought it was … logical.”
Desronvil, who comes from a Haitian immigrant family, was the only juror who wanted to find Clancy guilty of killing her three children in the late summer trial. After over 30 hours of deliberation, he held out, resulting in a hung jury. The other jurors wanted to find Clancy not guilty for reason of insanity. Clancy’s defense had argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis when she killed her three young children.
In the interview with McEnany, they visited a local playground dedicated to Clancy’s children. Desronvil has repeatedly stated that the focus should be on those young lives lost. He told McEnany that he has a daughter who is the same age as Clancy’s oldest was when she was killed.
“I have a daughter myself that’s 5 years old,” he said. “So seeing these three kids- it’s emotional. You can see the innocence, the pure joy in them. It’s hard to just take that away.”
Desronvil said media members had been showing up at his home, going through his mail, and peaking in his home’s windows.
He said there were “tense” moments during deliberations, and that “some moments in that deliberation room felt like decisions would be swayed towards one way.”
He said that his faith did not determine his position in deliberations, and that it was instead based “strictly on the evidence that was presented to me” in the trial.
Desronvil also responded to allegations from defense attorney Kevin Reddington, who accused Desronvil of making a false statement under oath. Desronvil said he “answered everything truthfully.”
