Catholic Clancy holdout juror thanks supporters, urges public to keep 'focus on the three angels' she killed

The lone holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy trial has spoken out on camera for the first time, thanking his supporters as he has faced backlash and urging the public to keep their focus on Clancy’s 3 murdered children. Michael Desronvil held out against 11 jurors who wanted to find Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity, and after over 30 hours of deliberations, the trial ended in a hung jury.

In a video statement aired on Fox News’ “Hannity,” Desronvil said, “I know the whole focus has been on me, but we want to reel everything back and put the focus on the three angels,” he said, “the ones that can't speak for themselves, the ones that can't defend themselves, and the ones that can't fight the battles, and those are Cora, Dawson, and Callan.”

“A little bit about me. I want to thank God for my Catholic faith. I want to thank God for blessing me with the ability to love my daughter, and I'm foremost. I would like to thank everyone, every individual that have supported me throughout this difficult situation. Your prayers, your emotional support, your psychological support is a tremendous to my heart that I feel, that I sense, that I know. I do want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.”

This comes after Fox News’ Kayleigh McEnany sat down with Desronvil’s attorney, Edward Paltzik, over the weekend, who spoke out in support of his client as he has faced backlash from both the public and Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington.

Paltzik said regarding Desronvil being called an “obstructionist juror” by Clancy attorney Kevin Reddington, “That’s the one thing that I’m going to thank him for. He tells you exactly what he’s thinking, and what he’s thinking is unacceptable. It has no place in the law, and it’s the exact reason why he needs to be disciplined.”

He characterized his client as being a “man who cares about the law. He does care about the evidence, and he rigidly applied the reasonable doubt standard,” saying that “Michael has zero doubt.”

Toward the end of the trial and in the weeks after, pieces of Desronvil’s identity were made public, some without his consent. Reddington had called the holdout juror a man, narrowing down the possible identity from a 12-person jury pool to the three men who were on the Clancy jury. Paltzik said, “It was beyond the pale. And Kevin Reddington did not do that for any legitimate purpose … the purpose all along was to out Michael.”

Desronvil comes from a Haitian immigrant family, and is Catholic as well as Republican. Desronvil is said to be hiding out in an undisclosed location amid the backlash and media attention.
